It has been reported that in the last 10 years, economic losses due to natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods and hail have exceeded 3 trillion dollars.

In the first half of 2020, natural disasters killed around 2,200 people. The Floods have been the deadliest natural disaster in the period covered by the report and were responsible for 60 percent of the total number of deaths.
